To fellow tech'es:
The more I learn of projectors and see them used, the less afraid I am of them. Rev. Jeff, thanks for the website. I googled the projector from Eagle Com. and found a price of $3,000 for the unit and $2,000 for the long throw lens.
Also, the more "electrical' type of people I talk too, the more they recommend mounting a unit up front. It would be a less expensive package. If we spend more for one in the balcony, I am more concerned about moving it to different locations. That is very expensive equipment to be moving around by hand.
I brought in an electrician friend (Roger) to look at the lights in the church and hallway. The pews and hallway have many dark spots and the sanctuary has many shadows. As we look at a projector, it all ties in to sound, lights and video as well. I think this committee is trying to get an overall look at a package that would include all these topics.
I am willing to look into lighting and sound needs. Roger shared several ideas, of course some require more $ than others, but I think we want to at least look at different directions.
Gary and I visited Oakwood church south of Greenville and St Peter's Luth. in Rockford (Rogers church). They both have good things for us to consider.
I am open to meeting at nearly any time.
Peace, Paul Golke
